Building for the Future ~ Preserving the Past
EXPANSION & RENOVATION CONSTRUCTION PROJECTLewis County Public Library and Archives in Hohenwald, TN serves over 12, 000 residents. Our library provides much more than just books. Hotspots, free wi-fi and patron computers, technology training, educational programming, and a community meeting space are just a few of the many resources provided in less than 5,000 square feet.
Our focus on the preservation of county archive materials has determined a need to create a large space to maintain and preserve important historical documents, as well as to provide a proper viewing room for visitors' research. Additional areas of need include ADA compliant access throughout the building, a technology lab, improved security systems, a larger community meeting room, more private study areas for patrons, and more restroom . One of the many ways we are honoring those who donate to this important project is to add their names book spines painted on our donor bookshelf in the library. Once all three book shelves are full of books, then our goal of acquiring one million dollars will have been reached. Below is a video showing our progress as of December 2023.
